Going through one of those periods where I remember that my mental health is so much better when I’m not on this site. I’m not entirely gone, and I still always wish I had people to talk to because I miss having close friends and fandom friends, so feel free to PM me contact info if you’d like to keep in touch off this site. The one thing I really hate about stepping back from tumblr is how it really does cut me off from the ability to talk to just about anyone about fandom/media stuff since I really don’t have any of that IRL.

I recently rediscovered the word “foof,” and I’m having a fantastic time with it.

So this is the main issue I have with image descriptions, which is that a very, very obviously photoshopped picture was not described as a very, very obviously photoshopped picture. And thus anyone who’s relying on grassroots image descriptions isn’t getting nearly enough information.
This is the original:
Which is exactly the same as the first picture, but instead says “Join the change-in Fridays” on the sign and was a promotion for their second season. This is very important context of the photoshopped image, because it’s been altered in order to tell a joke! A joke that was obvious (or… should have been) to people who could see the image! A funny joke!
But because image descriptions are just random people on the internet explaining what they see, and moreover prioritizing what they think is important about an image, there’s still a big disconnect.
The dog is supposed to run up in front of her and sit.
They did exactly that perfectly
